Logan Tour
Every day throughout July/August/September and weekends onlyJune and October.
30–40 minute short tours of the cliffs with our interpreters. These will leave on the hour between 10 am and 4 pm. The times forLogan tours change daily depending on tides and weather.
- Grade: easy terrain, gravel beach accessed via steep slope and staircase
- Pricing: $5 per person (no discounted fees for this tour)
Lyell Tour
One tour each day, depending upon tides* 1 June -20 September
Weekends only, depending upon tides*, 21 September - 31 October
( bookings can be made upon request for other days of the week).
1.5 to 2 hour tour of the cliffs with our interpreters.
- Grade: moderate terrain, gravel beach accessed via steep slope and staircase, traversing large rocks and water courses. Hard hat will be provided and must be worn. No open toed shoes.(Children under 5 not recommended.)

Dawson Tour
Once-a-month 4-hour executive guided tour of the Classic Section of the Joggins Fossil Cliffs with our Chief Interpreter or Guest Guide. Includes a brown bag brunch/lunch/afternoon snack.
- Grade: Difficult terrain, gravel beach accessed via steep slope and staircase, traversing large rocks and watercourses, walking for long periods. Hard hat will be provided and must be worn. No open toed shoes. (Children under 10 not recommended.)

Important Information
All participants in the Lyell and Dawson tours are required to ensure that they are wearing suitable clothing and footwear (no open-toed shoes) and have with them any medication required and sufficient drinking water to maintain hydration for the duration of the walk. Hard hats will be provided on these two tours and must be worn. All Interpreters are qualified in First Aid and CPR and have 2-way radios in case of emergencies. Places on the Dawson Tour must be booked in advance. The JFI reserves the right to cancel a guided tour at any time if it decided that the weather and/or tides deem the undertaking or continuation of a tour to be dangerous. An alternative date will be offered at no additional cost.
*"depending upon tides" means that we can not present these tours where a high tide time makes the safe undertaking of these tours impossible. These days will not show a Lyell tour time on the schedule.
